If you would like any more details or information on any of the peices of work below please contact us
Knowsley Young Advisors will be carrying out a number of workshops with different groups of young people across Knowsley to gather their views and perceptions on what 'risk taking behaviour' actually means to young people and why they get involved in such behaviour. The workshops also aim to let allow young people to tell us what support they think young people need to be able to avoid such risk taking behaviours.
The findings of the workshops will be presented to health commissions to allow them to work with the Young Advisors to ensure the right services are commissioner for young people, that will offer them the support and guidance they need and want.
Knowsley Young Advisors have worked alongside young people from S.P.A.R.K, Knowsley's Children & Young People's Forum to discuss the findings of the Boundary Commission and the impact it may have on Knowsley. The information will be given to councillors to help inform their discusssions and overall Council response to the proposals.
Knowsley Young Advisors led an interactive discussion based workshop with 30 young people from a variety of groups across Knowsley to gather their views on the proposed changes to the role of the Children's Commissioner following John Dunford's Review and subsequent Report.
The information gathered by the Young Advisors has been fed back directly to the DfE, and will be collated alongside the consultation that was gathered from young people across the country.
In response to the current and emerging trends in the use of social networks, Knowsley Young Advisors have been commissioned by Knowsley Safeguarding Children’s Board to design and deliver an innovative and engaging briefing session that will raise awareness and understanding of social networking. The session will outline the potential benefits for services in using social networks as a tool to communicate and engage with young people, with the core message running throughout the session of ‘how to safeguard yourself, your colleagues and young people when using social networking websites’.
For a sneak peak at what the session will look like please check out our Training Flyer below:
